    Welcome to Canossa Home
    In the Care of the Canossian Daughters of Charity
    Canossa Home is situated at Trebonne, 8kms from the township of Ingham.
    It offers 44 Nursing Home places and 39 + 1 respite Hostel place. It is a haven of quiet, peace and serenity, laughter and joy.

    The Facility caters for all people in need of care. The Home’s philosophy offers a firm commitment to uphold Christian Values maintaining a high standard of care. The service provides a home-like complex, designed for comfort to assist residents to remain as independent as possible.

    The Home was opened on the 9th January, 1966, as a 20 bed hostel and 7 bed nursing home, by Bishop H.B. Ryan of the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
    In 1973 it was extended and by June 1977 a Recreation Hall was completed as a community service project by the Ingham Rotary Club assisted by the Ingham Rotaract Club. This was opened on the 4th June 1977 by Jim Kern, Rotary District Governor and blessed by Bishop Faulkner. At this time we provided a 40 bed hostel and 14 bed nursing home to the community.

    In 1982 the Hostel was refurbished and on the 28th March 1982, a new Nursing Home with a 44 bed capacity was opened, by Bishop L.A. Faulkner of the Catholic Diocese of Townsville. In 2002 a new hostel was constructed and today provides 40 single rooms with ensuite bathrooms.

    A large number of the rooms open onto a courtyard. Gazebo and barbecue areas are provided for residents use and that of family and visitors to help provide a relaxing peaceful environment.
